About me
Sue Arlidge is a teacher in Canmore, Alberta. For twenty years she was the School Consultant at the University of Calgary’s Biogeoscience Institute where she taught grade 6-12 ecology field trips, using student inquiry as a portal to understanding the natural world. For over three decades, Sue’s career has focused on inspiring wonder and scientific questioning of the world outdoors. She has collaborated with numerous educational and recreational initiatives with Elders and Knowledge Keepers from the Îyârhe Nakoda Nation. Sue is an author and editor of Natural Science and Indigenous Knowledge, The Americas Experience, 2024, where her chapter explores Indigenous Knowledge in the K-12 science classroom.
