About me
Francophile since kindergarten, Oriana has been involved in language learning for most of her life. Before getting into teaching, she did beginner-level learning in Japanese, Chinese, German and Spanish, as well as a Minor in Linguistics, prior to her Education degree. Though she did her B.Ed in BC, Oriana has spent all of her career teaching in the Calgary area. Always at PDTCA schools! She first heard about NLA during her B.Ed insofar as it relates to the Intensive French program, finding the strategy not only well-founded but very natural. In 2008, during the one week long Intensive French teacher training, she realized that certain principles of NLA can be simply applied by any teacher to improve the language learning of any student, be they ELL, French immersion, or anglo-dominant Francophone.
