About me
Dr. Lindsay Avramovic graduated with her Doctorate in Education in October 2024 and is now the Principal of St. Francis of Assisi Academy. She also serves as the President of the Council for School Leadership and sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Principals.
Dr. Avramovic began her teaching career with Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Schools at a K-12 school in Canmore, where she served as an elementary teacher. In 2017, she was appointed Vice Principal and took on additional responsibilities in Learning Support and English Language Learning. By 2019, she became the Director of Catholic Education, leading faith formation initiatives, overseeing curriculum, and advocating for Catholic education across the district. In the spring of 2022, she transitioned to her role as Vice Principal at a K-9 school in De Winton.
In addition to her roles within CTR, Dr. Avramovic has contributed to teacher education as a Sessional Instructor in the Bachelor of Education program at St. Mary’s University. Inspired by her mentors and driven by her passion for leadership, she pursued a Master’s in Administration and Educational Leadership at the University of New Brunswick, graduating in the spring of 2021. Committed to lifelong learning, she completed her Doctorate in Education at Western University, focusing on theories of educational leadership and K-12 organizational systems.
Dr. Avramovic has served on several Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA) committees, including the PDTCA Convention Board, ATA Local 29, and as a TWC representative. She co-assisted the Religious & Moral Education Council Annual Conference and sits on the Executive for the PDTCA Convention Board as the Facilities Chair.
