About me
Ellie moved to Canada in 2019 from Sheffield, England. She has a master's degree in Biodiversity and Conservation from the University of Leeds. For her degree, Ellie researched the effect of the pet trade on primate species in Belize. Since graduating in 2013, she has worked in the conservation education field, which includes 4 years at the Wilder Institute/ Calgary Zoo. She loves seeing the positive effect that learning at the zoo can have. She says 'The zoo allows people to see things for the first time, creates memories and encourages critical thinking and questioning'. The giraffe are her favourite animal at the zoo but she also loves bats. When she's not at the zoo you will find her hiking, climbing or skiing in the mountains.
