About me
Connie Jakab is the author of Bring Them Closer, where she helps educators and parents figure out how to bring hard-to-reach students closer. She has been working in mental health and resilience for 25 years, studying the impacts of how belonging creates resilience. She created a social experiment where she noticed what would significantly decrease anxiety and increase bravery in classrooms, and now is sharing what she learned to educators. She contracts with the Surrey School Board to create a sustainable Mental Health and Substance use model to help reach students, as well as she is a Senior Consultant with Godwin Consulting to help schools build cultures of joy, responsibility, and connection. Connie and her husband also own a renovation company where they are combining his handyman skills and her relational wellness tools to bring restoration to homes, physically, relationally, and emotionally.
