Drawing on her 13 years teaching in an elementary school, 10 years of being a teacher educator, and 50 years of life experience as a Métis/Cree daughter, sister, mother, aunty and grandmother she will share insights into Cree understandings of children gifts, as sacred bundles, who often arrive to school with weighted backpacks. Participants will engage in an interactive experience designed to move this information, and the ideas co-created in the session, from our heads to our hearts in our collective ongoing efforts for meaningful and steady progress towards true reconciliation.
